I Spy Koala is a free app (available for Apple and Android devices) that allows community members to record their sightings of koalas in the wild. Sighting reports are directly fed into the BioNet Atlas and will contribute to informing conservation management.
App users are encouraged to continue to contact their local wildlife rehabilitation group directly if they see sick or injured wildlife, to ensure care can be provided as soon as possible.
I Spy Koala has also been specifically designed to facilitate the collection of koala survey data and support koala conservation groups. Survey data can be directly uploaded from the app into the NSW BioNet Atlas, removing the need for cumbersome manual entry.
Visit the Apple or Google app stores to download the I Spy Koala app.
Also visit NSW Koala Country, which is a community website dedicated to protecting koalas in the wild in NSW. If you have a story or a key message to share, please use the ‘contacts’ page on the website.
