EarthCare Park Landcare, a beacon of environmental stewardship, earned well-deserved recognition at the Parliament of NSW Legislative Assembly on September 19, 2023. MP Jenny Aitchison, the Minister for Regional Transport and Roads, took a moment to formally acknowledge the remarkable achievements of EarthCare Park Landcare group for their outstanding work on their 50-hectare site in East Maitland.

Over a span of 22 years, EarthCare Park has undergone a breathtaking transformation, evolving from a patch of degraded Crown land into a thriving native biodiverse woodland and wetland. The recent bird species count tallied an impressive 120, showcasing the park’s role as a haven for diverse avian life.  Notably, the site also boasts a flourishing breeding population of Hunter River longneck turtles, a testament to the group’s dedication and commitment over three decades.

The tireless efforts of the EarthCare Park Landcare group are nothing short of remarkable, and their story is truly inspiring. A heartfelt applause to everyone involved! Your passion and commitment serve as a beacon of inspiration for all of us. Keep up the incredible work, EarthCare Park Landcare!
