Garden Escapees – It’s back and better than ever!

Help is here! Terry Inkson has just launched his new – latest and greatest Garden Escapees and invasive plants of farms, bushland and reserves.

The book, now in its sixth edition was launched at Tocal, and boasts 211 pages with information on not just weeds – but handy things too – like information on biological control, weed control methods to make life easier, plant me instead lists – to replace those weeds with natives and even more! High-definition photos with an easy-to-follow layout, tips and tricks and General Biosecurity Duty, weeds have never been so attractive and easy to deal with!

People who’ve been lucky enough to meet or work with the infamous Terry are familiar with his high energy persona, can–do attitude, and passion for plants. Terry’s relentless enthusiasm for all things plants (and weeds in particular) is driven by over forty years in the horticultural sector, spanning nursery management, council landscaping and administration, civil construction, horticultural advisory roles, biosecurity management and membership with the Australian Institute of Horticulture.

Last year Terry updated this book for our HRLN Landcare Muster, with the tweaks being made to better support those living in the Hunter, as the book previously had more of a focus on the Mid Coast. Now it’s been revised – again!  To better help and support the people on the ground doing the hard work – YOU! Landcarers!

Electronic copy: The gift that keeps giving…

Those at Tocal or our workshops may have the hard copy, but did you know this book has its own electronic version? This electronic book (or eBook) can be used at home or in the field on your computer, laptop, iPad or phone, to help you identify weeds and treat them.

Not just another gimmick!

Terry has really put in the hard yards here! With this online version, easy to access hyperlinks (little coloured pictures) take you to websites with the information you need on that weed!

So, how does it work? Don’t be afraid! – this book is easy to navigate!

The eBook has hyperlinks on every weed page. You can click on the hyperlinks which will then take you directly to reputable, nationally and internationally recognised webpages giving you specific information on that particular weed, allowing you to target weeds on your site (no trawling through endless unrelated pages to find your weeds of concern!)

A directory of hyperlinks showing what they mean. These hyperlinks have been cherry picked by Terry himself. He’s cut out all the stuff you don’t need to know – and kept the good stuff!
