HRLN and the nine local councils of the Hunter region have been working collaboratively over many years on conservation projects and events, supporting Landcare groups working on council lands. Many of our councils have signed a joint Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with HRLN. This has provided the opportunity for us to identify priorities for biodiversity conservation both locally and regionally. Our collaborative efforts with these councils have been rewarding for both parties, and results in more effective on-ground biodiversity conservation outcomes for our region. Thanks to the following councils for their efforts and commitment to biodiversity conservation through joint MoU’s: Maitland City Council, Singleton Council, Upper Hunter Shire Council, Muswellbrook Shire Council, and Dungog Shire Council.
