It was hot outside, too hot to play (in the shed), so he went through his files on that hot, hot, hot day.

This month’s tool, a nice little hatchet to help poisoning woody weeds, you might need a blacksmith, farrier or someone with an oxy set to make it. I have put this one to quite a bit of use.

You will need a ball peen hammer head (which you can pick up for a couple of dollars at antique and old tool shops).

Heat it and start hitting.

And more….. And more

Turn it around and draw the ball out to a point (good for getting through thick bark)

Clean it up, heat to non magnetic red* then quench in (cheap) cooking oil (*a magnet won’t stick to it)

Final clean, mount and sharpen and one handy little bush regen tool.
