Landcare NSW Gathering-2

Landcare NSW Gathering

Newsletters, The Scoop

Committee Members of the Hunter Region Landcare Network (HRLN) and Coordinator staff attended the Landcare State Gathering in Coffs Harbour last week. The gathering enabled Landcare Committee Members and staff from each of the 11 regions in NSW to come together and plan for the next 4 year Landcare Program which will officially start on 1st January 2024. At the recent state election, Labour dedicated $56 million to fund ongoing support for Landcare in NSW under the existing Landcare NSW/ Local Land Services Partnership. This means there will be more staff and funds available for on-ground Landcare projects across the state. In the Hunter region, this will allow us to better support and resource groups working on public land and private landowners undertaking activities such as regenerative agriculture, integrating cultural land management advice and practices, wildlife corridors, riparian restoration, as well as recovery activities from natural disasters. The HRLN Committee Members and your Coordinators will continue to support you until the new program starts.
