The Scoop

Landcare Week is just around the corner (5th-11th August). As part of the celebrations of what landcarers achieve together, Hunter Region Landcare Network is celebrating the native animals that are using your landcare site(s).  We are aiming to share 100+ photos of birds, bats, bees, mammals, worms, snakes, butterflies, fish, beetles …anything goes.

If you spot some wildlife between now and 11th August please take a photo and share it to our facebook page.  You can add the name of your group, any other details you wish and #HRLNwildlife100. Click the tag to see all the photos added.

During Landcare Week we are also partnering with Lake Macquarie Landcare to provide a Free Bus Trip for volunteers on Wednesday 7th August.  The tour will explore the successes and challenges of restoring three very different sites.  This event also aims to foster supportive links and knowledge sharing between landcarers across the region.

Landcare Week is a national celebration recognising the efforts of over 6,000 groups and 140,000+ volunteers who currently represent the Landcare movement across Australia.  Across our region, let’s keep growing resilient ecosystems from the mountains to the sea.
