Themeda Grasslands Workshop and Planting Day

Date: Friday 27 September 2019, 8.30 am to 3.30pm
Where: 11 Woodward Street, Merewether, and in the adjacent Morgan Street Reserve.

The Workshop will address

  • Significance of coastal Themeda Grasslands as Ecologically Endangered Communities
  • Propagating and growing themeda
  • Themeda recognition, and differences to the noxious weed Coolatai
  • Control of Coolatai
  • Use of Glyphosate chemicals
  • Use of soil augurs, induction and safety
  • Progress in the rejuvenation of the themeda grassland in Morgan Street Reserve.

The Planting in Morgan Street Reserve will be of themeda tubestock propagated by Newcastle City Council Nursery.
Morning Tea and Lunch provided. Hats and covered footwear please.
