With Port Stephens Koalas at Tanilba Bay
Join Tilligerry Landcare for an early National Tree Day planting at Gir-um-bit State Conservation Area. The morning will begin with a talk from Port Stephens Koalas about Koala biology and how you can help protect the local population.
We will be planting 200 koala food trees in the previously sand mined area that is now part of the Gir-um-bit SCA at Tanilba Bay. You will see the progress that is being made since the project began in 2020 to restore this habitat.
Wear long sleeves, pants, sturdy shoes, and a hat. Sunscreen, insect repellent, gloves, and planting tools will be provided. A light lunch will follow after planting under the marquee.
This project has been assisted by the NSW Government through its Environmental Trust.
