Celebrate World Wetlands Day at Hunter Wetlands Centre

On Sunday the 5th February, Hunter Wetlands Centre is inviting the local community to visit them at Shortland to recognise World Wetlands Day.
Breakfast with the Birds – 7.30 – 8.30am
Expert tour guides from Hunter Bird Observers Club will take you on a tour and share their knowledge and passion for birds. Follow up with breakfast in the cafe (at your own expense) or bring a picnic.
Tour is free for HWCA members. Non-members $20 (includes membership of HWCA). Booking essential, phone 4951 6466.
World Wetland Day Display – 9.30am – 1.00pm
Find out why wetlands are so important and why Hunter Wetlands Centre is a Star Wetland Centre Award winner. Display of memorabilia and early videos of the restoration of the site with knowledgeable volunteers on hand to answer questions.
Dipnetting and craft for the Kids – 9.30am – 1.00pm
Guided Walk at 10.30am
Reptile Encounter 11am
