McCullys Gap Rehabilitation Sustainability Community Group is focused on caring for the land, habitats, native fauna, flora and each other.
The Bush Poets night was run by group volunteers as a fund-raiser for community workshops and special events supporting farmers and landholders.

Paul’s retrospective bush ballad about the event …

McCully’s Gap Landcare Bush Poetry Night
It was from somewhere out near Singleton, where the wild women roam,
That a flame haired lass called Meg, set out to leave her home,
It’s Saturday night, she said, and I’ll not spend it alone,
I think I’ll go out, and recite myself a poem.
It was McCully’s Gap Landcare that had put out the call,
It’s bush poetry night everyone, at the McCullys Gap community hall,
Soup and poetry for everyone, come one and come all,
Up on stage she got and without a moment of hesitation,
She gave a poem about a Nun who conversed with vegetation,
The night ended all too early, with everyone in sober condition,
With Richard ending the night with his version of a Chuck Berry composition.

The group meets on the third Friday of each month at the McCullys Gap Hall.  People interested to find out more about this friendly community group, please contact our Upper Hunter Coordinator, Paul Melehan https://hunterlandcare.org.au/contact-us/.
