I was intrigued by this custom tool named ‘the Lantana Hook’ that the Dungog Commoners Landcare team have been using on large lantana.
To quote Clare, group secretary “The tool works by reaching with the pole to hook the base of the plant and then using both hands on the cross bar, standing up and pulling until the whole root ball comes out. It saves you getting up close and personal with the lantana, saves scratches and cuts and also saves some strain on your back. It works great on large lantana but it’s not as useful on small flexible plants”.
I cant wait to try it out for myself.
