Newsletters, The Scoop

Two Hunter Landcare projects gain funding through landcare led bushfire recovery fund. The Program is a $14 million Federal Government commitment to deliver on-ground activities to aid in the recovery of native wildlife and habitat in seven regions severely impacted by the Black Summer bushfires.

  • HRLN and Wollombi Landcare have received funds to improve the condition of the riparian zone along an 13km stretch of Congewai Creek from the upstream Cedar Creek junction to Wollombi Brook to benefit native species which will include the Critically endangered Regent honeyeater, Vulnerable Koala and Spotted-tailed quoll.
  • Luskintyre Landcare has received funds to continue their Revegetation program with locally occurring native species across nine member farms in the area.  This recent boost will help to create biodiverse corridors and improve the condition of gullies, slopes, flats, around dams and waterbodies. Stay tuned for more updates.
