Did you know that Australia has more than 90 species of native mistletoe, that are found nowhere else in the world?
Come along to our FREE workshops to find out about mistletoe’s ecology, biodiversity role and much more. Is it a boon or a curse?
You will hear from Professor David Watson, Australia’s leading mistletoe expert, advocate and author of ‘Mistletoes of Southern Australia’. As well as Mick Roderick from Birdlife Australia, who will discuss significant woodland birds, their habitat and the importance of mistletoe locally.
Learn about these unique plants and participate in a one hour field tour. Find out:
• What values do mistletoes have as native woodland bird habitat?
• What can mistletoes tell us about the local environment?
• Do they harm or kill the host tree?
• Should I be removing mistletoes from old paddock trees?
