Build your own backyard frog habitat

Saturday 17 March 9am to 11am

Wallsend South Public School – Smith Road, Elermore Vale

Thinking about doing some gardening at home? Why not include a frog pond in your plans? A frog pond is a great way of improving the aesthetics and tranquility of your garden whilst providing essential habitat for our amphibian friends.

Horticulturist Maree McCarthy will teach you the basics of building a frog bog and will provide various options for people renting or living in small spaces. There will be giveaway native garden start packs and a lucky door prize in the shape of a ‘Frog Pot’.

While the adults are learning about how to transform their gardens in to frog havens, children can get creative making their own ‘welcome’ frogs from locally sourced plant objects with our Nuts about Nature coordinator.
Frog Habitat Hikes – Evening spotlight walks.
