The Hunter has been awarded funds for 6 Landcare projects in 2020 through the Communities Environment Program:
Hunter River Reserve Greta- $20,000 to rehabilitate Lower Hunter Valley Dry rainforest.
Col Fisher Park Singleton- $20,000 to restore the riparian zone containing mature river red gums.
Lochinvar Public School- $5000 to create bird habitat adjacent Lochinvar creek
Martindale Creek Catchment Landcare- $20,000 for African Boxthorn Control Program across Martindale Creek Catchment.
Fern Creek Gully Landcare- $20,000 to restore the valley habitat for Squirrel Gliders and to restore the Hanging Swamp
Morgan Street Reserve- $5600 for regeneration of suburban parkland including water harvesting
