Event description

Calling all climbers, walkers, surfers and lovers of our rocky coasts

Come along to our Crag & Bush Care at Tomaree National Park
and give back to the bush

Sunday 19 February 2023

Do you enjoy rock climbing or bush walking and are concerned about the bush around you?
Join us at one of Tomaree’s favourite climbing spots at Boulder Bay (the Treatment Plant) and help manage the invasive weeds here.

The Hunter Central Coast Climbing Coalition, the regional arm of Australian Climbing Association NSW, with the Friends of Tomaree National Park, a group of the National Parks Association (Hunter Area) invite you to join us. This activity is with the support of National Parks and Wildlife Service, NSW.

Come for our Crag & Bush Care morning, and climbers, if you wish, stay for an afternoon climb.

Feeling lucky … lucky (out)door prizes for weeders thanks to Pulse Climbing will be up for grabs.

Morning
8.30am – 12pm

Learn about native vegetation and how to deal with invasive weeds such as Bitou. Start pulling weeds! We’ll also cut and paint with herbicide.

Afternoon
Pull on the holds and enjoy the climbing. The climbing is not an organised activity and is not affiliated with ACANSW or Friends of Tomaree NP. Climbers will need their own equipment and climb at their own risk.

Park and meet:
