Landcare sites can be the recipients of suprise arrivals when people relocate animals from their backyards into “a bit of bush”.
Some of these animals may get attacked by other fauna defending territories. They may also be in the wrong habitat type.
A reminder that if you find sick, injured or displaced native animals on your Landcare site or property, or whilst travelling, you can use the IFAW Wildlife App Australia to find your nearest licensed Wildlife Carers.
The Hunter Wildlife Rescue volunteers have a 24/7 Rescue Line 0418 628 483 operated by WIRES. If you find an injured snake they can put you in touch with your local snake handler.
