Muswellbrooke Shire – Get involved in Landcare

The Scoop

There’s a Landcare Group forming near you!

Are you interested in caring for the land?

Protecting native habitats?

Learning about native plants and animals?

Keeping your local area beautiful?

Many of your local creeks and rivers are overrun with weeds.

Riparian areas, or those areas alongside rivers, creeks and streams, are often the worst affected by weed infestation.

Revegetating riparian areas not only helps our native flora and fauna, but can also

  • Provide shelter for stock and crops
  • Prevent erosion
  • Control runoff
  • Help manage salinity and waterlogging

This is why we are forming a community-based team of friendly locals who want to improve these catchment areas.
