In late June, HRLN joined Luskintyre Landcare members to celebrate the opening of their new storage container. The container is more than just a storage unit; it serves as a communal place to house tools, equipment and a place to meet and connect. The Landcare sign is visible to all those passing by and sends a positive message about the power of community Landcare.
We also took the time to plant a few (carefully selected) tubestock along the Hunter River. The next round of planting took place on the 30th July, thanks to sponsorship from OzFish and assistance from Hunter Local Land Services Kooragang volunteer team. This is the first phase of planting of riparian focused Dry Rainforest and associate plants to enable a robust vegetation community, able to withstand stream flows and inundation.
