Bring Back the Rainforest & Renew the Hunter

Help restore the Lower Hunter’s lost Dry Rainforest — and be part of a legacy that protects wildlife, strengthens communities, and heals Country.

The Hunter Region Landcare Network (HRLN) is working with partners including private land-holders, community-based Landcare groups, Maitland Council and Local Land Services to bring back Lower Hunter Valley Floodplain Rainforest. This project has been assisted by the NSW Government through its Environmental Trust.

Revegetation sites continue to be identified and prepared.  The first plantings started in April-June 2025 and are ongoing.  Community involvement is essential to make this project a success.
