Home butchery demonstration and vet update

We are fortunate to have organised Drew Shearman, a local mobile home butcher who is happy to give us a demonstration on basic butchery techniques.

Our Hunter District Vet Team and Peri Urban Program Coordinator, Emergency operations Nic Schembri will also give producers an overview of responsible pig ownership.

Topics will include

• Common pig diseases and recommended vaccinations

• Swill feeding and exotic diseases

• Pig husbandry and nutrition

• Zoonotic diseases

• New NLIS requirements for pigs.
